Theme

Psalms 24 (10 verses in the MT) opens: [A Psalm of David.] The earth YHWH's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. The middle of the chapter continues: This the generation of them that seek him, that seek your face, O Jacob. Selah. It closes: Who is this King of glory? YHWH of hosts, he the King of glory. Selah.

For he has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods. Who shall ascend into the hill of YHWH? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that has clean hands, and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul to vanity, nor sworn. Movement II (vv. 5-8) — He shall receive the blessing from YHWH, and righteousness from the God.
