Theme

Proverbs 26 (28 verses in the MT) opens: As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool. The middle of the chapter continues: The slothful hideth his hand in bosom; it grieveth him to bring it again to his mouth. It closes: A lying tongue hateth afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.
