Theme

2 Kings 22 (20 verses in the MT) opens: Josiah eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Boscath. The middle of the chapter continues: And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the book of the law, that he rent his clothes. It closes: Behold therefore, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered into your grave in peace; and your eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring upon this place. And they brought the king word again.

Behold therefore, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered into your grave in peace; and your eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring upon this place. And they brought the king word again.
