The Book of Psalms, Chapter 71תהלים 71

בְּךָֽ יְהוָ֥ה חָסִ֑יתִי אַל אֵב֥וֹשָׁה לְעוֹלָֽם

In you, O YHWH, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.

בְּצִדְקָתְךָ֗ תַּצִּילֵ֥נִי וּֽתְפַלְּטֵ֑נִי הַטֵּֽה אֵלַ֥י אָ֝זְנְךָ֗ וְהוֹשִׁיעֵֽנִי

Deliver me in your righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline your ear to me, and save me.

הֱיֵ֤ה לִ֨י לְצ֥וּר מָע֡וֹן לָב֗וֹא תָּמִ֗יד צִוִּ֥יתָ לְהוֹשִׁיעֵ֑נִי כִּֽי סַלְעִ֖י וּמְצוּדָתִ֣י אָֽתָּה

Be you my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: you have given commandment to save me; for you my rock and my fortress.

אֱֽלֹהַ֗י פַּ֭לְּטֵנִי מִיַּ֣ד רָשָׁ֑ע מִכַּ֖ף מְעַוֵּ֣ל וְחוֹמֵץ

Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.

כִּֽי אַתָּ֥ה תִקְוָתִ֑י אֲדֹנָ֥י יְ֝הוִ֗ה מִבְטַחִ֥י מִנְּעוּרָֽי

For you my hope, O Lord YHWH: my trust from my youth.

עָלֶ֤יךָ נִסְמַ֬כְתִּי מִבֶּ֗טֶן מִמְּעֵ֣י אִ֭מִּי אַתָּ֣ה גוֹזִ֑י בְּךָ֖ תְהִלָּתִ֣י תָמִֽיד

By you have I been holden up from the womb: you are he that took me out of my mother's bowels: my praise continually of you.

כְּ֭מוֹפֵת הָיִ֣יתִי לְרַבִּ֑ים וְ֝אַתָּ֗ה מַֽחֲסִי עֹֽז

I am as a wonder to many; but you my strong refuge.

יִמָּ֣לֵא פִ֭י תְּהִלָּתֶ֑ךָ כָּל הַ֝יּ֗וֹם תִּפְאַרְתֶּֽךָ

Let my mouth be filled your praise your honour all the day.

אַֽל תַּ֭שְׁלִיכֵנִי לְעֵ֣ת זִקְנָ֑ה כִּכְל֥וֹת כֹּ֝חִ֗י אַֽל תַּעַזְבֵֽנִי

Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.

כִּֽי אָמְר֣וּ אוֹיְבַ֣י לִ֑י וְשֹׁמְרֵ֥י נַ֝פְשִׁ֗י נוֹעֲצ֥וּ יַחְדָּֽו

For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together,

לֵ֭אמֹר אֱלֹהִ֣ים עֲזָב֑וֹ רִֽדְפ֥וּ וְ֝תִפְשׂ֗וּהוּ כִּי אֵ֥ין מַצִּֽיל

Saying, God has forsaken him: persecute and take him; for none to deliver .

אֱ֭לֹהִים אַל תִּרְחַ֣ק מִמֶּ֑נִּי אֱ֝לֹהַ֗י לְעֶזְרָ֥תִי חישה חֽוּשָׁה

O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help.

יֵבֹ֣שׁוּ יִכְלוּ֮ שֹׂטְנֵ֪י נַ֫פְשִׁ֥י יַֽעֲט֣וּ חֶ֭רְפָּה וּכְלִמָּ֑ה מְ֝בַקְשֵׁ֗י רָעָתִֽי

Let them be confounded consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt.

וַ֭אֲנִי תָּמִ֣יד אֲיַחֵ֑ל וְ֝הוֹסַפְתִּ֗י עַל כָּל תְּהִלָּתֶֽךָ

But I will hope continually, and will yet praise you more and more.

פִּ֤י יְסַפֵּ֬ר צִדְקָתֶ֗ךָ כָּל הַיּ֥וֹם תְּשׁוּעָתֶ֑ךָ כִּ֤י לֹ֖א יָדַ֣עְתִּי סְפֹרֽוֹת

My mouth shall shew forth your righteousness your salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers .

אָב֗וֹא בִּ֭גְבֻרוֹת אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה אַזְכִּ֖יר צִדְקָתְךָ֣ לְבַדֶּֽךָ

I will go in the strength of YHWH YHWH: I will make mention of your righteousness, of your only.

אֱֽלֹהִ֗ים לִמַּדְתַּ֥נִי מִנְּעוּרָ֑י וְעַד הֵ֝֗נָּה אַגִּ֥יד נִפְלְאוֹתֶֽיךָ

O God, you have taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared your wondrous works.

וְגַ֤ם עַד זִקְנָ֨ה וְשֵׂיבָה֮ אֱלֹהִ֪ים אַֽל תַּעַ֫זְבֵ֥נִי עַד אַגִּ֣יד זְרוֹעֲךָ֣ לְד֑וֹר לְכָל יָ֝ב֗וֹא גְּבוּרָתֶֽךָ

Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed your strength to generation, your power to every one is to come.

וְצִדְקָתְךָ֥ אֱלֹהִ֗ים עַד מָ֫ר֥וֹם אֲשֶׁר עָשִׂ֥יתָ גְדֹל֑וֹת אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים מִ֣י כָמֽוֹךָ

Your righteousness also, O God, very high, who have done great things: O God, who like to you!

אֲשֶׁ֤ר הראיתנו הִרְאִיתַ֨נִי צָר֥וֹת רַבּ֗וֹת וְרָ֫ע֥וֹת תָּשׁ֥וּב תחיינו תְּחַיֵּ֑ינִי וּֽמִתְּהֹמ֥וֹת הָ֝אָ֗רֶץ תָּשׁ֥וּב תַּעֲלֵֽנִי

, which have shewed me great and sore troubles, shall quicken me again, and shall bring me up again from the depths of the earth.

תֶּ֤רֶב גְּֽדֻלָּתִ֗י וְתִסֹּ֥ב תְּֽנַחֲמֵֽנִי

You shall increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.

גַּם אֲנִ֤י אוֹדְךָ֣ בִכְלִי נֶבֶל֮ אֲמִתְּךָ֪ אֱלֹ֫הָ֥י אֲזַמְּרָ֣ה לְךָ֣ בְכִנּ֑וֹר קְ֝ד֗וֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל

I will also praise you with the psaltery, your truth, O my God: to you will I sing with the harp, O you Holy One of Israel.

תְּרַנֵּ֣נָּ֣ה שְׂ֭פָתַי כִּ֣י אֲזַמְּרָה לָּ֑ךְ וְ֝נַפְשִׁ֗י אֲשֶׁ֣ר פָּדִֽיתָ

My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing to you; and my soul, which you have redeemed.

גַּם לְשׁוֹנִ֗י כָּל הַ֭יּוֹם תֶּהְגֶּ֣ה צִדְקָתֶ֑ךָ כִּי בֹ֥שׁוּ כִֽי חָ֝פְר֗וּ מְבַקְשֵׁ֥י רָעָתִֽי

My tongue also shall talk of your righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought to shame, that seek my hurt.
